Description
The Sierra Service Project is now accepting applications for its summer positions.  We will be hiring cooks, supply coordinators, construction coordinators, spiritual life coordinators and home repair coordinators.  To read a full description of each of these job, please visit the Summer Program Staff page on our website.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate plus at least one year of work experience or college
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Drivers license with at least one years' driving experience
  • Able to work without interruption from June 13 to August 18, 2012

Application Process
To apply for a position with SSP this summer, you must fill out this online application.  It includes essay questions and indentifying two references.  We will send online questionnaires to your references via email.  We suggest writting and editing your essays in a word processor and copying and pasting your responses into the fields.  Responses are limited to 200 words.

Written Essays
1.  SSP is looking for mature leaders.  Please describe your leadership qualities and your leadership experience.  Please describe to us the ways in which you are more mature than most of your peers.
2.  What was the most difficult thing that you accomplished in the past 12 months?  Why was it difficult?  What did you learn from this experience?
3.  Working at SSP is a huge sacrifice.  Staff members are away from family and friends for a nine week period.  Work days are long and living conditions are rough.  What qualities do you have that will enable you to thrive in the role of an SSP staffer?
4.  Tell us a little bit about yourself:  your background, your interests and activities.  What formative experiences have made you into the person you are today?
5.  What role does the Christian faith play in your day-to-day life? 

Interviews
After completing this application, you will be contacted for an initial screening interview.  Candidates who pass the screening interview will be scheduled for a final job interview March 30th or 31st.
